Programs

Building Puerto Rico’s first ocean-safety system through community training and public rescue infrastructure.

Training people. Installing infrastructure. Saving lives before help arrives.

Our Program Model

Rincón Water Safety operates through two core programs—Beach Guardian Seminars and Rescue Infrastructure—supported by a growing Community Response Network. Together, they create a practical, scalable model for safer beaches across Puerto Rico.

Beach Guardian Seminars

CPR, AED & Ocean Safety Training

Hands-on community training designed to empower surfers, swimmers, other beach goers, residents, and visitors with the skills to recognize ocean hazards and respond effectively before professional help arrives.

Participants learn CPR, AED use, and how to assess real ocean hazards such as rip currents, shallow reefs, and wave dynamics—skills that save lives when seconds matter.

Rescue Infrastructure

AEDs & Public Rescue Stations

Rincon Water Safety installs and maintains strategically placed AEDs and public rescue stations in the highest-risk beach areas of Rincón.

These stations are equipped with flotation devices, whistles, and lifesaving tools designed to reduce response time and increase survival rates during ocean emergencies—before professional responders arrive.

Each station is part of a coordinated system, mapped and publicly accessible, so community members and visitors know exactly where to find lifesaving equipment when seconds matter.

Community Response Network

Surfers, Volunteers & Local Leaders

The Community Response Network is the human layer that makes the system work.

Through Beach Guardian Seminars, local surfers, residents, instructors, and business owners are trained to recognize ocean hazards, coordinate rescues, and respond effectively during emergencies—before professional help arrives.

This growing network transforms bystanders into capable first responders and ensures that rescue infrastructure is used quickly, correctly, and safely when it matters most.
