December 19, 2025 – Domes Beach Community Intervention

A documented community-led rescue highlighting coordinated response, ocean knowledge, and applied safety education.

Domes Beach (Point Area toward Deadman’s)

On December 19, 2025, a visitor encountered a strong lateral current near the point at Domes Beach and was carried toward the Deadman’s area, a known high-risk zone.

A community member identified the situation and alerted nearby surfers. Several individuals in the water and from the shoreline responded using surfboards and coordinated positioning.

Due to the strength of the current, rescuers avoided a direct extraction attempt and instead followed the lateral escape route promoted in RWS educational materials — moving around the point and exiting through the Indicators area.

The individual was successfully assisted out of the water without reported injuries.

This intervention reflects the importance of hazard awareness, coordinated response, and understanding of local ocean dynamics.

Community participants included local surfers and shoreline observers familiar with the area.
